Serving the BC Coast

Gibsons, the town best known as the base for the CBC’s long-running show The Beachcombers, was struggling after the series’ cancellation. Fuerniss purchased a corner lot on the main highway and acquired a dual Wendy’s /Tim Hortons franchise. This was the first “chain” restaurant on the Sunshine Coast and locals were, at first, skeptical of this new operation. The Fuerniss family put in 18-hour days as they built the business. Their determination to provide fast, consistent, friendly service, and a quality product paid off. A stop at “Tim’s” drive-through for locals and visitors en route to the mainland ferry, or to their workplace, became a local habit. Stopping at Wendy’s for a fast lunch or dinner when homeward bound became a tradition for many families.

From this base, Klaus Fuerniss Enterprises has grown to own and operate ten stand-alone outlets for Tim Hortons/Wendy’s in high-traffic areas of Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. This includes outlets in Gibsons and Sechelt. Over the past two decades, their focus on exceptional customer service and satisfaction has never wavered.
